Service Detail

What does a Business LPA cover?

Business continuity plans are measures that are put in place to allow your business to continue in unforeseen circumstances. They do not allow a person to have any legal authority over your business.

This is where a Business LPA comes into play. Unlike an LPA for your personal matters where you may choose a family member, with your business, a lot more is involved.

In the event that you lose mental capacity, the Business LPA will allow your chosen Attorney to carry on your business.

You can put restrictions on what can and cannot be done within the business and provide instructions on guidelines to ensure your Attorney can continue to operate your business with ease.

You can have both a business LPA and a personal LPA. However, it is important to ensure that there is no conflict between the two.

Preparing for every eventuality is part of running a successful business, but contingency planning for ill health and incapacity is often overlooked.

A business LPA should be a key part of your succession planning toolkit and all shareholders, partners and sole traders can benefit.
This is a specialist area of law and only a handful of law firms out there are able to offer this service. Luckily, we are one of them.
